Hi! My name is Lena. I'm a home-cook-fermenter-food-scientist living in Cambridge, MA and my most used kitchen tool is quite literally a jar full of tasting spoons.

Between adding a dollop of this or that to a dish, tasting something as it’s cooking, testing a ferment or just fixing myself a snack, I go through a lot of spoons. And my stash of jars is forever waxing and waning depending on what I’ve been fermenting or cooking.

My love of food was instilled early on by two very good home cooks (hi Mom and Dad!) and continued into a food center career. With degrees in food science and culinary arts, I’ve worked in corporate test kitchens developing new products and made the move to local food establishments when I realized serving and feeding people made what I do fulfilling. The kitchen is my creative studio and the hub from which I nourish myself, friends, and family.
